The summer of 2022 brought an exciting opportunity for the Gaia Bharat team. We had an amazing opportunity to run our “Captain Planet Workshop” inspired by Captain planet who is the only superhero trying to save the earth from pollution from past eons. It is one of our initiatives toward Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at ‘Pragyan Public School’, Greater Noida on 28th April 2022.
We were so happy to teach 100+ children about the importance of waste & waste separation. This workshop helps us in educating our young and future generation which can be our potential waste generators if not given the right direction. We also made them aware of the calamities we’ll face if we don’t work on waste management at the individual level and protect the environment. And the best part is that not only will they learn about this vast problem of waste that our country is recently experiencing, but will also be motivated to talk about it with others.
The motivation behind the workshop was to help the kids in learning more about waste and how to handle and separate dry and wet waste at the household/ school/ personal level. It was a knowledge-based plus fun interactive session with class 8th students that helped us stir up the interest of our “YOUTH” in Solid Waste Management.
It started with an informative “PRESENTATION” on & about waste, then they were handed a fun “QUIZ” to check if they could recall and learn whatever was taught to them in the presentation.
After this learning session, we conducted an amazing “GAME TRIVIA” for our kids. In this, they were divided into different teams and were presented with a mystery bag from which they had to pick up a waste prop and decide where it needs to be put! Dry waste bin? Or a wet waste bin? And all in just a few seconds, Oh the thrill!
The winning team was rewarded with a pair of dry & waste bins so that they can start this practice of waste separation and no longer have any problem with waste separation at home.
With this workshop, we wanted to inculcate a sense of responsibility towards our environment in our young generation. Instilling the habit of handling & classifying waste from a young age so that our upcoming generation can contribute to raising the standards of living in our country.
And once we get success in it, it will help in sustaining a better future for our young generation by making: “BHARAT CLEANER & GREENER”
We are looking forward to run our workshop in all the schools, and if anyone is interested to collaborate or associate with us, please feel free to contact us.
