When humanity strives harder for people to understand the behavior and different complexities they face, and sometimes when they suffer from the same. The scars on individual bears, even after 50 years, show how sensitive and how difficult it was to suppress everything, to tolerate all the bullies and engulf yet hard to digest. Pat Pribble who had carried out the scar for such a long time, was inflicted by his fellow mates from school in Woodland, Washington.
He was always being bullied for being sensitive, for being silent, and was not very active in grabbing every opportunity and lagging in several activities. The popularity in school becomes more seductive than being loyal. Years went by and even after old age struck yet it became more difficult to accept the meaning of existence, denying the acceptance, deterioration in mental health, the disturbing surrounding had bound him with barriers that he might not cross and forced him to live in utter loneliness, unmarried and a companion, a dog in Portland. He had tried only to switch jobs, once being homeless and then in deep agony.
The gray beard revealed that even though time passed by and circumstances changed yet, he was strong as a rock which was a facade but yet he was a benevolent, kind, and easy-going person. Pat had a younger brother Leo who was the complete opposite leading and living a full life but after 36 yrs of marriage, unfortunately, he lost his beloved wife because of a fatal disease. Being brothers for life, defending him from mere fights in school, helping Leo with homework, Pat had always proven the responsibilities and being a loveable elder sibling. But unavoidable circumstances changed everything and after graduation, Pat drifted apart in that direction where he never knew that darkness could stay for so long. After a long time when his friends had arranged a reunion party after 35 yrs, Leo got caught up with one of his old fellow mates Jim Carey to whom he revealed how cancer had taken his every second but yet Leo never forgot to cherish his blessed life.
Decades later, when Leo’s friends heard the stories, and all the misunderstandings, they called Pat and helped him to meet his only love, his younger brother. Forgetting the past, the humiliation Pat had suffered was difficult to let go of, and meeting those people again was difficult to strike off, but yet Pat had convinced himself to reunite, to see his brother one last time in his life. When Carey had contacted and even after so many years, the mind had remembered the voice; it was an awful moment for both of them to relive every moment.
After a long meeting with Leo, he conveyed and helped Pat to understand that one should never underestimate themselves. Things and situations had changed way before and many people had a loose track of time. The call and hearing these lines had helped Pat to heal the wounds again, helped him to overcome every obstacle, and to counter those moments he was frightened. After each other. Sometimes life may seem unfair, and the car may be stuck in the sand, but the determination to change the situation will help to take an individual forward.
